I usually book pickups with the online "Dimensional Freight Quote" option (because it offers the best pricing); however, what is not expressed when using this "service" is the fact that if you prepay online and then try and call customer service line for anything, you are essentially told that they cannot help you and that you need to only use the online portal.
Our delivery was supposed to be brought to us on 11/9 on a special truck. It never showed. Now YRC wants extra money to make the delivery. Disappointing. Update- we were later told that the delivery would be made on 11/10.... it never showed. I was then assured that we would receive our shipment on 11/13. The truck never showed and we were never called with an explanation. I finally was given an assurance that the truck would come by 10 am on 11/14. The truck finally showed up at 10:30 am. I was expecting 4 pallets and only 3 were delivered. When asked, YRC stated that they had "no idea" where the rest of my order was located and that there was no way that they could track it. They "think" that it "might" have been put on some other truck.
Additionally, they seem to use a magic 8-ball when invoicing and add accessorials that weren't ever requested, let alone required. After calling to have these additional charges explained, I was told, quite literally, that we could dispute the charges, but doing so may mean that they "discover additional charges that were not invoiced." It doesn't completely fit the bill but that seems to be a form of blackmail i.e. you cannot dispute their fraudulent charges or they will just come up with more.
Opinions vary. Always will.
I have tried to use YRC for several LTL shipments. Although their prices are competitive, expect to get the worst customer experience imaginable.
Yrc is not a good company to work for at any location. They are liars and thieves.and have no clue how to run a company.and you don't get paid for work performed. Equipment is the slowest on the interstate and worst and most unsafe equipment on road.if zollars was still here instead of Welch we might have good company still.and teamsters union is a joke.no where near what we used to be.
You may be tempted to use YRC due to their attractive rates, but take it from someone who knows, any cost savings on the front end will be quickly negated with time spent dealing with these unprofessional people and ridiculous accessorial charges.
