While living in Michigan for two years DK Property Management handled the management on our home. Constant communication between the property manager and ourselves was maintained and we always felt like we were a priority. Not a single bad word to be said of our experience as property owners with DK Property Management handling our home.
Since adding this review to their Facebook page on 11/7/17 they harassed me into removing it by continuously posting my address.
I enjoy the house I rent from them, but It was filthy when we moved in. We put hours of work into cleaning the house ourselves and were told we would be compensated for the work we had done. They changed their minds and never did. The toilets were brown, there was food and dead bugs smeared on the walls and under the sink. We have had a bug problem since we moved in, and the only thing they did about it was send a man with some spray once, which if you have ever talked to an exterminator, that is not how it is properly done. When something needs fixed, it is done poorly and cheaply and looks awful. I love my house and the location, but the rental company is horrific to deal with. I would never choose to go through a company this bad. I wish the actual homeowner knew how awful and sloppy they were.
They did a great job and made me money when they managed my rental property. Way more money than when I managed it myself and without half the headaches. My tenants were also much happier to have such a responsive team managing it!
I have only good things to say so far. Tracy has helped me find a place to rent and still helping find a place to buy.
They come highly recommended!
This Company was absolutely horrible. We signed a lease for this house. The picture showed that it was done and looked nice, but when we went to go look at it, it was a complete disaster and smells like wet dogs. We told them our situation and that we had to be out of our other rental house by the first since our current rental place was going to be sold. They promised us it was going to be done and move in ready. We paid them the deposit plus the first month rent upfront ($2,450) They gave us the keys, and they told us it wasn't ready but they would call us when it was. We kept going back to the house to look for the progress it was really slow. One day I noticed huge bug in the light. I asked my son "what is that, what kind of bug is that big? So we open it up and then came the humongous dead cockaroach I have ever seen. See I'm not used to seeing big cockroaches only the small ones. So it really freak me out (someone once told me, if you see one cockroach then there usually hundreds or maybe thousands more.) so one night we went back to make sure if there really was a roach problem and started investigating. As soon as I open one of the closets there was Godzilla cockroach ( yes bigger than that dead humongous one) right in front of my face. Then we went to the bathroom and we saw little ones too and I'm starting to get worried and I'm thinking "good lord..big ones and little ones this is not happening!" I told my husband you need to call them and and tell them they need to come out with an exterminator that there is no way I'm bringing my kids and furniture into an infested home. I even suggested for them to pay for the first extermination and that we would keep up with the rest of the exterminator visit, but I would like to choose the exterminator company. They never called us back and when we came really close to our time to move into this house we noticed a lot of holes and cracks in crevices and the refrigerator wasn't clean under the refrigerator wasn't clean under the stove the stove itself wasn't clean it was a total mess and we were expected to move in like a few days. There's a bug problem and the refrigerator and stove are disgusting underneath the refrigerator is it's disgusting how can I move into disgusting house, and be able to get rid of these cockroaches? Even the bathrooms weren't clean right. I have never been into a rental house or an apartment for that matter that everything wasn't clean. I told my husband I can't move into this place, I rather sleep in a tent. From some luck from above someone called us and told us there was a house that hasn't been advertised yet and that it was move-in ready and that it was $250 cheaper than the Roach house. So we went to go take a look at it and it was beautiful, clean and bug free. We were sold and we ended up getting that house. We called DK property management to see about getting some if not all of our money back . The lady was like well we can give you back the first months rent but I don't know about the deposit, I'll have to get with the owner. It's been three months going on four that we have not heard back from them. I have pictures I would love to show, if I can find a place to Post them. If you're looking for a place, make this company your last option. This Company doesn't even deserve one star.
